The icon that
displays next to a patient's name, indicating a link between a
specific visit and an existing note, is now visible to anyone
viewing the schedule. Previously, this icon was displayed for
providers only. This icon displays with a green checkmark (
)
when the associated note or notes have a status of Final.
A number now displays to
the left of the icon (2
) to indicate
the number of unread clinical messages waiting for you
in the Clinical Messages queue.
You can click the CM icon to navigate directly to the Clinical Messages module.
A View column has been added to the Clinical Messages list screen. Clicking an icon in this column displays the selected message while providing hyperlinks to other messages in your queue in the left pane. You can open any of these messages without having to leave the current Clinical Messages screen.
A batch option to close all old visits has been added to the Customize settings. See Close Visits for more details.
Additional options are now available when creating patient letters for general chemistry and general hematology results. You can now choose between standard text interpretations (normal, stable, or slightly abnormal) as well as select whether to include actual test results (with normal reference ranges). See Create a Patient Letter for more details.
You can customize your summary to show the Immunization tab and the To Do tab allowing you to display their associated entries. See Create a Custom Summary for more details.
You can choose to view a different Summary layout for your LMR Summary than the default Patient Chart Summary layout. Additionally, you can display the LMR Summary pop-up window by pressing the F9 key. See Custom Summary Overview for more details.
An OnCall
link has been added to allow you to access diabetes
and rheumatology (MGH Rheumatology location only) summary
information for the patient, when applicable. See the Problems,
Meds, Procedures, and Allergies section under View,
Edit, or Add List Items for more details.
An
OnCall icon
displays to the right of a diabetic problem to allow you
to access the Diabetes Management Summary Page for the
current patient.
Note: For the MGH Rheumatology location only, you can access the Rheumatology Summary Page by adding the OnCall tab to your view.
Temporary data indicators display to the left of new, edited, discontinued, or inactivated list items on the Summary to let you know that you have unsigned data. See View, Edit, or Add List Items for more details.
You can now add and view sticky notes without leaving the Summary screen. Use the Add New button to display a popup window for entering new text. All sticky notes you enter display for this tab on the Summary. See View, Edit, or Add List Items for more details.
The icon used to

When this icon displays to the right of an entry, it indicates that a link exists between that med, problem, or allergy and a note. This link is only established if you enter text in the free form or structured note related to the med, problem, or allergy. You can click the icon to display the note.
The Favorites button is now also displayed at the top of the Medications list screen. See Work with Medication Favorites for more details.
You can also take advantage of the Payor Formulary when adding a medication to choose less costly, but equally effective medications that Partners has evaluated. These alternative medications can also offer lower patient co-payments and may not require prior authorization. See Work with Payor Formulary for more details.
When adding or changing a medication, there is now dual-mode prescribing so that you can elect to order the medication either by dose or by strength/form. See Add a Medication for details.
You can now add a specific date when discontinuing a medication. See Renew or Discontinue Medications for details.
The Sliding Scale dosing option has been enhanced so that depending on the blood sugar range you enter for A through H, the other BS end range field values below your entry will automatically be generated. See non-fixed dosing options under Add a Medication for details.
You have the option of printing a faxed prescription if the fax should fail. See how to print or fax prescriptions under Add a Medication for more details.
When looking up pharmacy information, you can now press ENTER instead of clicking the Search button.
You can now click buttons for Allergy Unknown and NKA at the top of the Add New Allergy screen instead of having to scroll down in the Allergens drop-down list. This is useful when adding allergies to a structured note.
There is now a connection established between the Problems module and the text that is entered for a structured note to address the status of the problem at that particular visit. Any problem text that exists for a given problem now displays on both the Problems list screen and the edit problem screen. You also have the option of choosing your favorites from the Problems module.
Health Maintenance concepts are now logically grouped on the Health Maintenance module to make it easier to locate the information you want to review.
The searching capabilities of notes have been improved. You can classify notes (see Add a Note) to quickly locate and retrieve particular notes or find certain information within them. See Create a Custom Filter and how to use the Modify Filter option in Find a Note for more details.
A note will no longer be automatically linked to problems, medications, or allergies unless you enter text in the structured note related to that specific entry. See Add a Note.
A button has been added to allow you to insert the most recent comment related to a patient's family/social history into free form notes.
A warning message now displays if you attempt to e-mail a preliminary note that you have edited, but not yet signed.
The Vital Signs section of a structured note now includes all items from the associated Flowsheet module. For pediatric patients, this includes growth chart percentiles, when applicable.
When adding an allergy to a structured note, you can now click buttons for Allergy Unknown and NKA at the top of the Add New Allergy screen instead of having to scroll down in the Allergens drop-down list.
The Favorites button is now available when adding a new medication or problem within a structured note to offer direct navigation to the Favorites function.
You can now specify a different Physician and Fellow/NP for each of the four diagnosis values. See Create a Flowsheet for more details.
When creating a custom query, you can now include Physical Findings as part of your criteria. See Create a Custom Query for more details.
You can now use the Custom Filter module to view, edit, and create custom note filters. Custom Filters allow you to quickly find notes that have been categorized according to specific criteria. See Custom Note Filter for more details.
You can control whether the LMR requires you to sign updates for the current patient before selecting another.
New options let you specify default preferences for the Rx and Don't Expire options on the Medications prescription pad. See Setting Your Preferences for more details.
You can now run a custom query based on schedule date, transaction date, or both. Previously, you could only run queries based on the visit date. Now if a patient has not been in for an office visit, but still had a transaction take place, you can capture that information as part of your custom query.
