Labs Overview

This tab displays lab results from Chemistry, Toxicology, Hematology, and Immunology, based on the selected sites and time frame.

Important: As of May 30, 2015, the hierarchy of panels and tests has changed. If you are having problems finding a result, use the Last Known Values tab to search for it.

The left pane lists clinical test groupings (panels) from the set of panels named in the Panels field. To limit the list to tests with results, click Resulted Tests Only (the default). To include all tests, whether or not the tests have results, click Show all Tests. A red checkmark (Image\check.gif) indicates that results are available within that panel.

Note: See Viewing Lab Data by Panels for details on limiting labs by filtered system or personal panels.

To view lab results, click panels in the list to "drill down" to the test level. The grid on the right displays lab results numerically or in words ("Positive," Negative," etc.). Results are arranged most recent first, based on the "logged in" date and time shown in the column headings. Scroll to the right to see older results, if applicable. For numeric results, abnormal values display in red. Corrected values display with a (C). A result with a text comment attached displays with a (T). Other, site specific result codes may provide additional information.

Note: If you don't see the specimen you are looking for, you may need to adjust the time frame to go back further. Doing so also allows you to display the trend of older results, if available.

To view additional detail for any result, click the value in the grid (including words such as "see detail") to open the Lab Specimen Detail Display.

To display the lab test trend for a chemistry, hematology, or immunology lab, click the test name in the column of buttons at the left side of the grid; then click Graph. To view the test trends for multiple labs, CTRL+Click up to ten test names; then click Graph.

To display detail for blood products, click the Blood Products button to bring up the Blood Bank Product Summary.  See Viewing a Blood Bank Product Summary for details.
