The Blood Bank Product Summary provides information about a patient's blood products in the last 90 days based on transactions received from BWH, MEEI, MGH, NSMC, and NWH Blood Banks.
Accessing a Blood Bank Product Summary
Click the Blood Products button on any of the following:
The Labs view.
The Big Board or Summary view (when you select a BWH, MEEI, MGH, NSMC, or NWH Blood Bank specimen in the index).
A Lab Specimen Detail Display that includes a BWH, MEEI, MGH, NSMC, or NWH. Blood Bank specimen.
Viewing a Blood Bank Product Summary
If the patient has blood products in the last 90 days, the summary includes a product table identifying the site , the patient's associated MRN, and the type and current status of each product.
If the patient does not have blood products in the last 90 days, the summary indicates "No Blood Bank Product Information found."
To view a trend for a specific blood product, click the link in the Product Type column.
To print a copy of the summary, click the Print button near the bottom of the summary window; then click Print from the Windows Print dialog box.
Viewing MGH Inpatient Blood Product Administrations
A button labeled MGH Inpatient Blood Product Administrations will be present in the Blood Product Summary popup if the patient has had blood administrations documented in the MGH eMAR system within the last 90 days.
Additional transfusion information may be available in other systems and/or from the paper records.
To view eMAR blood administration information, if available, click the MGH Inpatient Blood Product Administrations button. (See details)
