What's New in this Release - June 2003

   -  Scanning is available to a limited number of pilot practices. It allows outside documentation to be included in the patient's electronic record. Scanned documents are available from the Notes module. See Working with Scanned Notes and Results for details.

   -  The Batch Printing option (from the Schedule) now allows printing of the Patient Meds/Allergy List report. This report includes a "patient friendly" list of active medications and allergies, making it an ideal report to be shared with the patient. See Printing the Patient Meds/Allergy List from the Schedule for details.

   -  The Preceptor Queue is available from the Desktop menu for practices who utilized it in the CAS (Clinical Application Suite).

   -  A new Rx report has been added to the HIS Report list, accessed using the Tools option from the Admin menu (for authorized users). This report generates a report of all prescriptions that have been written by nurse practitioners for a selected practice for a selected time frame. See Printing HIS Reports for details.

   -  Also, when adding a structured note, if no previous entries for medications, problems, or allergies exist, you can now specify "None" or "NKA" (no known allergies), as appropriate. This indication is added for both the note and the associated patient list.

   -  When viewing notes, buttons have been added to limit your display to only scanned notes and reports. Also, when viewing a note that includes an addendum, a link to that addendum has been added (appears only when you click the Subject of the note to view it). A similar link exists for the addendum.

   -  New alerts display with drug-pregnancy warnings for women of child-bearing age or when you enter medications that may conflict with the patient's laboratory results or with other patient medications. See Responding to Prescribing Alerts for details.

   -  A new warning displays when you attempt to renew multiple medications that are missing required information (such as dispense amount or frequency).

   -  The Medication History screen has been updated to improve usability. Also, if a prescription has been sent by fax, the pharmacy name, phone number, and fax name is displayed with the entry. See Viewing Medication History for details.
