Responding to Prescribing Alerts

Alerts are currently displayed for the following conditions:

• Duplicate medications

• Drug-allergy conflicts

• Drug-disease

• Therapeutic duplication

• Drug-drug interactions

• Drug-lab conflicts

• Drug utilization

  Drug utilization alerts guide providers toward less expensive medications for the following categories:

  • antihistamines

  • selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs)

  • protein pump inhibitors (PPIs)

  • leukotrienes

  • ARBs

  • oral contraceptives

  • lipids
