• Set a Due Date for an Immunization

  You can add a due date to track the status of any item. The LMR uses pink highlighting to indicate items that are overdue. Yellow highlighting indicates items that are due on the current day.

  To add a due date, click the ... in the Due column of the Immunizations grid. The LMR displays an entry form.

  You can indicate a due date as a specific amount of time from the current date (that is, the number of years, months, weeks, or days from today). You can also enter a reason for the due date. Make your selections and click OK. You do not need to type your key to sign this update.

• Set a Flag for Immunizations to be Administered

  You can set a flag for immunizations to be administered. These entries display in the grid with the flag to serve as a informal communication to other staff members. To do so:

  1.   Click Order Imm. at the top of the Immunizations grid. The LMR displays a Vaccines to be Administered form.

  2.   Click the checkbox to the left of each vaccine you want to include. You can use the Product drop-down list to specify a particular product be used for a vaccine. You can also search for vaccines to be administered by product or vaccine name.

  3.   Click Ok (ALT+O). You do not need to type your key to sign this update.

  Note: Once the vaccine is documented as given, the LMR removes the flag.

• View Detail and History

• View Guidelines or Vaccine Information Statements (VIS)

• Maintain Vaccine Lots

• Indicate if the Patient Consents to Sharing Vaccine Information

  1.   Click MDPH MIIS Info at the top of the main Immunization grid to document whether or not the patient wishes to share vaccine information outside of his or her care providers. The LMR displays the Allow sharing dialog box.

  2.   Complete the displayed fields using the drop-down lists.

  3.   Click Ok (ALT+O). You do not need to type your key to sign this update.

  4.   To display previous changes to these fields (if applicable), click History (ALT+H).

• Indicate VFC Status

  1.   Click VFC Status at the top of the main Immunization grid to document whether the patient is eligible for federally funded childhood vaccinations under the VFC (Vaccines for Children) program. The LMR displays the Patient's Federal Vaccine for Children (VFC) Eligibility dialog box.

  2.   Indicate whether the patient meets the associated criteria (including if he or she has commercial health insurance, or if he or she is of American Indian or Alaska Native descent).

  3.   Click Ok (ALT+O).

  4.   To display previous changes to these fields (if applicable), click History (ALT+H).

Note:

• The word "Declined" in a column indicates an immunization that had been declined by the patient.

• Some items in this module (such as pneumovax and influenza vaccine) also display in the Health Monitoring module. Updates you make to these items are cross-filed.
