There are a number of codes that are displayed in the Status column of the Unit Census Monitor (UCM). Each indicates that a specific action is needed by a unit or a particular person: a nurse, an OC or OA, or an MD or the house staff. The table below describes each status code, as well as the process flagged by the status. Holding the mouse pointer over a patients's Order Status displays a description if the patient's flags.

There are new orders that have not been transcribed. These orders may or may not have been reviewed by a nurse. |
OC or OA transcribes |
Pending (Ambulatory Chemotherapy) |

IV Rewrite |
The patient has an IV Fluid order that is due to expire at 6 p.m. |

Preadmit |
There are orders that were written before the patient was admitted. Includes orders written in the ED for inpatient treatment.
AFTER the patient arrives, the admitting floor must activate these orders to change the status to PENDING. |
