Building a Release to Process Template
The name of a template for reprocessing
existing product must include "XXXXX Release to Process" where
XXXXX is the number of the protocol or treatment plan.
- For each template, define the Collection, Process, and Release
order options:
- Click to select Collection Options, Process Options, and Release
Options in the list to the left. All 3 order types are needed, although
the user must begin with a release order.
- For the Collection and Process orders, the Donor Type, Collection
Location and Product Collection must be selected.
- Other required items are pre-checked. Click to check other options
as needed.
- Click Save.
- Set the parameters for each option selected for collection, process,
or release, as needed:
- Click to select the Release to Process option listed on the left,
and click the Pre-Select option.
- Select the ReProcess option for the Collection Location and Product
Collection.
- For Post Process Options for Product, select Release to Patient
and New Product to Inventory for the Process order.
- For Collection, Process, Release, or Administration Instructions,
type information as needed. The text field can be left blank for the
ordering provider to complete. Instructions included by the builder
on the template can be edited by the ordering provider.
- For Guidance Instructions for the Collection and Process orders,
presented as a message on opening the order, type "The Release
to Process template must only be selected for release orders. Do not
select the Release to Process template for collection orders or process
orders. "
- Click Save.
- To edit the parameters for a selected option:
- Click to select the option listed on the left. Selected parameters
are listed under v v v v Current Options v v v v. Unused parameters
are listed above ^ ^ ^ ^ Available Options ^ ^ ^ ^.
- Click to check the Select box for items to be included as options.
If more than one option is checked, all are available for the provider
to select. Click Save.
- Click to check the Pre-select box for an option to be the default
selection. To make the pre-selected item required, with no change
allowed, uncheck its Select checkbox. To allow the provider to select
an option other than the default, check the Select box for all of
the options that should be available. Click Save.
- To set an parameter as the default, click to check Pre-Select.
Parameters labeled Select All That Apply are presented in the order
as a group of checkboxes, and more than one can be pre-selected as
needed. Parameters that do not allow multiple selections are presented
as drop-down lists, and if needed, only one item should be pre-selected.
Click Save.
- To remove a parameter, click to uncheck the item, then click Save. (You will be prompted to save
again if you remove a required option.)
- For free-text entries, type to add or edit text, or if you have
copied text, place the cursor in the field, right-click, and then
click Paste. (See Copying Free Text
from Details of a Template.) To remind you to save, the background turns blue and
the Save button turns red .
Click Save; the background
and button return to normal.
- For the multi-select Cell Dose option for process orders :
- As needed, click to check or uncheck the option to Allow
user to select one or more options when ordering.
- As needed, click to check or uncheck the option to Allow
cell dose to be editable when ordering. If not checked, the
ordering provider will not be able to edit an existing cell dose or
add a new cell dose.
- For each option needed (up to 10), click to select a line in the
grid, and then click
Edit

- Complete the parameters: Pre-Select, Release Fresh, Quantity, Description,
Cell Dose, Exponent, Cell Type Counts, and Comments. Click
to clear the Comments field.
When editing while ordering is allowed:
- If the Release Fresh box is not checked in the builder, it is not
available for providers who edit the option in a process order.
- If the Quantity and/or Description are not completed in the builder,
the fields are not available for providers who edit the option in
a process order.
- All options are available for providers who add a Cell Dose option
to a process order.
- Click Ok.
- To remove an option from the list, click to select the item in
the grid, and then click
Delete
this item under the grid.
- The reorganize the list, click to select an item, and then click
to
move it up or
to move it down.
- For the multi-select Thaw Cells per Bag/Vial option for release
orders:
- As needed, click to check or uncheck the option to Allow
user to select one or more options when ordering.
- For each option needed (up to 10), click to select a line in the
grid, and then click
Edit
this item under the grid.
- Complete the parameters: Pre-Select, Release Fresh, Quantity, Description,
Cell Dose, Exponent, Cell Type, and Comments. Click
to clear the Comments field.
Click Ok.
- If applicable, click to check the Give
All Thawed Cells box.
- If applicable, click to check the Give
(Specify Dose) box. When prompted, type the Cell Dose per Bag/Vial
and Exponent, and select from the Cell Type drop-down list; click
Ok.
- To remove an option from the list, click to select the item in
the grid, and then click
Delete
this item under the grid.
- For the donor type parameters of Weight, Height, and/or Blood (ABORh
type), click to check (if required) or uncheck (if not required).
This information can be entered for the donor (dWeight, dHeight, dBlood),
the recipient (rWeight, rHeight, rBlood), or both.
- For Maximum Number of Collections, select from the drop-down list.
- Click Save.
