Copy a Protocol or Treatment Plan

• There are two builder/archives for each lab site, one for oncology and the other for non-oncology. Check the top of the view to determine which you have open.
• You must be authorized to build or edit biotherapy protocols and treatment plans. See Overview of the Biotherapy Protocol and Treatment Plan Builder/Editor.
• The order templates for copies of protocols and treatment plans must be activated for use in Biotherapy Order Entry (BOE). See Activating a Template.
• As of 7/20/2021, builders can create a copy of any protocol, treatment plan, incoming cell type, or activated/reactivated template in the main builder tree, to use the content as the basis for a new item of the same type. Once pasted, copies of activated/reactivated templates are pasted as inactive templates, which can be edited and activated as needed. Click for a table of copying rules.

• If you haven't already, access the builder.
  1. Log on to Biotherapy Tools.
  2. Hold the mouse pointer over the Protocol/Treatment Plan tab.
  3. Mouse over to the specialty you want, Oncology or Non-Oncology, and then click the Builder/Editor option.

• Browse the builder tree
  1. Click the Protocols or Treatment Plans heading to display the available protocols or treatment plans.
  2. Click the protocol or treatment plan name to select it and display its product cell types.

  3. Click a product cell type containing the active template(s) to be copied. The item selected must include at least one (1) activated template.
  4. If copying a single active template, click to select that template.
• Search by name of the protocol, treatment plan, or template

  Find the template:

  1. Click the type of template you're looking for in the builder tree: Protocols, Treatment Plans, or Default Groups.
  2. In the pop-up menu (bottom right), click Find by type of template or Template Name (where type of template is Protocol, Treatment Plan, or Default Group).
  3. In the Search Criteria pane, click to select an option: Search type of template or Search by Template Name.
  4. Type the text to search for. Capitalization does not matter. The search looks for the exact sequence anywhere in the name of the protocol, treatment plan, default group, or template (depending on your selection in step 1).
  5. Click Find.

  Go to the template in the builder:

  1. Click to select the line for a template in the list.
  2. In the pop-up menu (bottom right), click Go to this item.

• Create and name the copy of a protocol or treatment plan:

1. Click to select the protocol or treatment plan to be copied.
2. Click [ ... ], and then click the Copy option.
3. At the reminder to change the default setting if you're copying a protocol as a treatment plan, or vice versa, click OK button. The prompt for pasting, naming, and numbering the copied Protocol/Treatment Plan opens.
4. The default is to create the copy as the same type as the original. If you want to copy a protocol to the treatment plan list, or vice versa, select from the drop-down list.
5. Type to update the name and number of the copy.
6. Click Ok to paste the item as indicated. The confirmation message opens.
7. When prompted, click Ok to acknowledge the message that the copy succeeded.
