Retract a sent referral
- If you haven't already, from 4Next standalone:
- Click Cases Sent on the main menu.
- Click the patient name to select a case.
- If you haven't already, from DHeCare (Epic Hyperspace):
- Log in to the Case Management or Care Coordinator module.
- From the patient encounter, click the 4Next tab.
- Click to display the case management view.
Retract a single referral
- You can retract any referral that was sent, until the need is finalized. To be able to retract a finalized referral, you must first re-open the need.
- Click ⋮ in the upper right of the provider item, and then click the Retract Referral
option. (The option isn't available if the referral is not
Sent.) - When prompted, click to select a reason for the retraction from the drop-down list.

Patient is now at different level of care at the hospital
- An appropriate message is included automatically in the text. Type to add to or edit the message.

To flag the message as requiring immediate action, click
to turn the Priority switch on: 
. - Click send.

Each message is added to the applicable single-provider list and the message list. Messaging a provider automatically marks all messages from that provider as read
. - The referral is flagged as
Retracted.
Retract all referrals
- To retract all referrals for a case, cancel the case.
Viewing retracted referrals
Retracted and 
Removed providers are still selected for the case, and can't be re-selected when you search for providers for a need. If you want to see these providers, filter the referrals to
show providers with an Inactive status.
