Re-send a retracted or removed referral

  • If you haven't already, from 4Next standalone:
  1. Click Cases Sent on the main menu.
  1. Click the patient name to select a case.
  • If you haven't already, from DHeCare (Epic Hyperspace):
  1. Log in to the Case Management or Care Coordinator module.
  2. From the patient encounter, click the 4Next tab.
  • Click Manage to display the case management view.

Accessing removed or retracted referrals

  1. In the checkbox clear Filter Results status section,  click to check Inactive checkbox clear to show all, or Removed checkbox clear  or Retracted checkbox clear  to show these. 
  2. If the need is checkbox clear Finalized, click  on the right of the section header for the need, and then click the Re-open option.
  3. If the case is canceled, it must be re-opened. Click in the case type section in the upper right, and then click the Re-open Case option.

Re-sending a single removed or retracted referral

  1. Click  in the upper right of the provider item, and then click the Send Referral option. (This option is only available for draft, removed, and retracted referrals.)
  1. Your selection checkbox checked  is displayed as the Referral Provider in the Send Referral popup. Click next .

  2. referral message appropriate for the services needed is automatically included in the text. If the planned discharge date is not in the discharge orders, the date is left blank for you to add. Type to edit or add to the message as appropriate.

  3. To flag the message as requiring immediate action, click Priority switch off to turn the Priority switch on: Priority switch on.

  4. Click next.
  5. By default, the Facesheet and Referral Summary are the documents selected to share.

  • Click and drag a document from available to shared or vice versa to add or remove documents to share.
  • Click move all to SHARED to share all available documents.
  • For obstetric mother/baby couplets who are going to have a one-time nursing visit at home, include the EMD Form; remove the EMD Form for other types of discharges.
  • Click move all to AVAILABLE to clear the shared documents list.
  1. To include attachments, click toggle off Share Attachments. To remove attachments, click toggle on Share Attachments.

    Attachments must be added manually to the case Details. For instructions, see:

  2. Click send.

The message you sent is added to the Messages icon messages list, and the Communicate view. For online providers, the Documents icon documents section is updated.

 Re-sending multiple removed and/or retracted referrals

  1. Click checkbox clear provider name to select one at a time, or click checkbox clear in the heading for the need to select all providers for the need. 
  2. Click send referral.
  3. All of the providers you checked off checkbox checked are listed.
  • A provider is flagged referral flagged if the referral is active and already sent. Their checkbox is inactivated checkbox inactivated so 4Next won't try to send them another.  
  • To keep from sending a referral to any one on the list, click to uncheck checkbox clear the box for a provider.
  1. Click next.

The Manage view for the case displays each of the selected providers as  Sent icon Sent. The message you sent is added to the Messages icon messages list, and the Documents icon documents section is updated for each selected provider. The Communicate message list is also updated.
