The Visit Summary report allows you to provide a report to the patient of actions that were taken during his or her visit (such as vital signs, prescriptions generated, and immunizations given). A section at the bottom of the report allows you to add provider comments. You can also choose to include a variety of patient education materials.
Note: If the LMR does not detect that the patient has a visit scheduled for the current day, the LMR displays a list of previous visits the patient has had (if applicable) or a button to create a visit summary (if the LMR cannot detect that the patient has ever had a visit with the practice).
The report also includes complete lists of conditions (problems), procedures, medications, and so on. If desired, you can elect to suppress specific information by clicking the check box to the left of the item to deselect it.
This report is intended to be generated immediately after the patient's visit to facilitate effective patient/provider communication. The report can either be printed and given directly to the patient or sent to the patient through Patient Gateway with or without printing. The report can also be saved as Preliminary allowing others within your practice to contribute to the summary report before providing it to the patient.
You can also see a list of all previously printed or saved reports, including any provider comments.
For Patient Gateway users, an online copy of the Visit Summary is added to the patient's Patient Gateway account when this report is saved in any status other than Preliminary.
The LMR automatically creates reports and posts them to a patient's Patient Gateway account if one is not created by the day after the visit. This only occurs for patients with Patient Gateway accounts, and excludes teen patients.
This report can also be printed from the Schedule. and EOV modules and by using the right-click shortcut menu.
