You can add an addendum to any note saved with a status of Final. For example, you may wish to add an addendum to clarify or add information. (If the note was created by or for you, you can also amend the original note. See Amending a Final Status Note for details.)
The LMR lists each addendum beside the original note on the Notes main screen, and includes links between an addendum and its associated note. An addendum is printed automatically when you print the note. When you print an addendum, the LMR allows you to choose to include or exclude the original note. Multiple addendums can be created for a single note.
1. If you haven't already, go to the Notes module.
2. Find the Final status note you want to add an addendum to and click its subject to display it.
3. Click Addendum.
4. In the text box to the right of the Note - Subj text box, type an addendum comment up to 20 characters, if desired.
Note: Addendum comments appear as part of the note subject.
5. Type addendum text or add patient data, as desired.
Note: Although you can create an addendum for either free-form or structured notes, addendum text is free-form only. For example, you cannot modify previously entered comments regarding a problem, procedure, or allergy.
6. Click Ok (ALT+O).
7. If you want to save your work now, click Sign (F10). The LMR indicates the changes that will be saved. Type your key and click Sign.
