Adding a Result Interpretation

The Result Manager can help you add result-appropriate text to a patient letter. The Result Manager determines text to add based on the result category and whether the result is within normal limits.

1.   If you haven't already, go to the Result Manager module and click a letter or letters in the CDR Results column for the visit.

2.   To add a system-generated result interpretation, click one of three options:

• Add Interpretation to Letter

  Use Add Interpretation to Letter if you want to choose which results (from the upper left pane) to insert in the letter. Be sure the check box associated with the result is checked, and click Add Interpretation to Letter. You can include interpretations for multiple results simultaneously by clicking each check box for the test result you want to include. (To include interpretations for all results and add an ending and signature, click Quick Letter.)

  Note: Depending on the results you select, you may be prompted to respond to template pop-ups to expand on standard interpretations. See step 3 for details.

• Quick Letter

  Click Quick Letter to include interpretations for all results (in the upper left pane) and automatically add an ending and signature. Unlike Add Interpretation to Letter, you do not need to select the individual result check boxes when using the Quick Letter function. This button will generate the letter by accepting all default paragraphs and templates for all displayed results, and will automatically add an ending and signature at the close of the letter.

  Note: Depending on the results associated with this patient, you may be prompted to respond to template pop-ups to expand on standard interpretations. See step 3 for details.

• Turbo Letter

  Click Turbo Letter when you want all of the functionality of Quick Letter plus the added convenience of bypassing the General Chemistry and General Hematology templates. The information from each template is automatically inserted into the letter without you having to make selections or work with the General Chemistry and General Hematology template popups.

  Note: You are still prompted to review the text-based templates for Microbiology, Radiology, and Pathology.

3.   Templates are provided for some test results to let you expand on the standard interpretations. A popup window displays that lets you provide additional interpretation options.

• Microbiology, Radiology, and Pathology results

• General Chemistry and General Hematology results

4.   If you clicked Add Interpretation to Letter and are not awaiting any additional results for this patient visit, click Ending & signature.

5.   Click Save, Save as Final, Save as Final & Print, or Save as Final and Send PG, as appropriate.
