Viewing Administration History for an Order
Data for this view does not include any information posted after the implementation of Epic at the site. See Epic Go-Live Dates for details.
- Hold the mouse pointer over the OE/eMAR menu in the PHS Viewer, then click MGH eMAR.
- By default, the MGH eMAR opens to the Med Overview. To display a different view, hold the mouse pointer over the eMAR Views menu, then click to select a view.
- Click
for the order you want, to open its administration history.
- For the selected medication order, a list of administration times, dosages, the user name of the clinician who administered the order, vital signs, and other related information displays. This includes a separate line for each administration (including administrations documented elsewhere, such as on paper). The reason for scheduled doses not given displays when applicable.
- To view a log of changes to any administration, click the
(if applicable) in the Audit column. If the administration has not been amended, this column is blank. See Viewing the History of Amendments to an Administration.
- Click the user name in the Ent. By column to display the full name of the clinician who administered the order. Click OK to close the message.
- A lower pane displays administration history for other orders for this medication and To sort all displayed orders and related orders by time, click Sort Admins by Time (ALT+S).
- For each order, administrations are sorted with most recent administrations first. To sort in chronological order (oldest first), click the
.
- For insulin orders, fingerstick values associated with administrations display in the Results column. For a complete view of all fingerstick values (including those entered without an insulin administration), use the Sort By Time option.
- For pending medication orders, only a single pane displays, with administration history for this medication and related medications (if applicable).
- To display whether a previous administration was scanned or entered manually, hover the mouse pointer over the first column (administration number).
- To search for a specific medication or administration date or time, type into the Find field and click an arrow to search forward or back.
- For patients with an extensive list of administrations, click the Previous and Next buttons to navigate the list.
- To view details of an administration, click to select its line in the list, then click Zoom. See Viewing Details of an Administration.
