Viewing the Pain Scale History
Data for this view does not include any information posted after the implementation of Epic at the site. See Epic Go-Live Dates for details.
- Hold the mouse pointer over the OE/eMAR menu in the PHS Viewer, then click MGH eMAR.
- By default, the MGH eMAR opens to the Med Overview. To display a different view, hold the mouse pointer over the eMAR Views menu, then click to select a view.
- Click
for the order you want, to open its pain scale history.
- For the selected medication order, the top section of this view displays all pain scale assessments documented both pre- and post-administration.
- To view a log of changes to any administration, click the
(if applicable) in the Audit column. If the administration has not been amended, this column is blank. See Viewing the History of Amendments to an Administration.
- Information includes the time and date the pain scale was recorded, the dose administered, the user name of the clinician who administered the order, the pain scale used, and the numerical value of the assessment. Post-administration pain scales also include whether adverse affects were noted.
- To view a log of changes to any pain scale, click the
(if applicable) in the Pre-Med or Post-Med Pain Scale result column. If the administration has not been amended, this column is blank. See Viewing the History of Changes to a Pain Scale.
- Click the number score or the name of the pain scale used to display the pain scale entry form.
- Click the user name in the Entered By column to display the full name of the clinician who administered the order. Click OK to close the message.
- The section underneath lists pain scale records for other orders of the selected medication if such orders exist for the same visit. The information is the same type as provided for the selected order.
