Lock the template items (lock = button down, dragging OFF).
Select the order.
Click the Orders menu, or right-click a selected order.
For General Care (Other) Orders, to change whether the order will be sent to pharmacy, click Pharmacy Related (will send to Pharmacy) or Not Pharmacy Related.
For other orders, click Define Properties for Selected Order(s).
Click any or all of the Variable checkboxes to enable that property for all of the selected orders:
Initially Checked—the order is selected in the template as a default, forcing the user to uncheck the order to remove it from the session.
Disable Edit—in the template player, the ordering provider can select an order, then click the Edit button to open the original form an make changes. By disabling this editing capability, you force the user to pull up the individual order forms outside of the template.
Invokes Order Screen—when selected by the user on the template, the form for this order opens automatically.
Other variables replace the order parameter as written—for example, start time, rate, or fluid for IVs—with the drop-down list that appears in the original order form. The default value is whatever you selected when you wrote the order.
Click Okay (ALT+O).
