Search the Chemo Builder

1. Click Tools (ALT+T), then click Build Chemo Regimen/Protocol (ALT+P).

2. Click Search (ALT+C).

1. Click one option to select the parameter to use in searching. You will be prompted for criteria once you make this selection.

• Medication (ALT+M)

• Folder name or description (ALT+F)

• Order set name or description (ALT+S)

• Ordered weekly—adult only (ALT+R)

• Physician instructions (ALT+P)

• Instructions field in medication, chemo medication, or IV fluid order (ALT+I)

• General care other orders (ALT+G)

• Find/Replace (ALT+R): See Find and Replace in the Chemo Builder.

• Pending changes report: See Pending Changes for Chemo Builder Find and Replace.

2. Click OK (ALT+O).

• Medication

  1. Click the option to search for all types of medications (ALT+A), or only chemotherapy agents (ALT+H).

  2. Define a medication, route, or both (at least one is required):

  1. To limit the results to a particular medication (ALT+M), type at least the first three letters of the drug name. Do not use a name if you want to search for all med orders with a particular feature, for example, all meds with cap dosing defined.

  2. To limit the results to a particular administration method such as PO or IV, type the abbreviation for the route (ALT+R). Typing IV will search for all IV routes—continuous, push, bolus, etc.

  3. To limit the results to meds ordered with particular features defined, click to check one or more of the order parameters listed. Options include do not recalculate (ALT+D), body weight dosing (ALT+B), capped dosing (ALT+P), and instructions (ALT+I).

  4. Click OK(ALT+O).

• Folder name or description

  1. Click to select an option to search for folders by name (ALT+N), by description (ALT+D), or both (ALT+A).

  2. Type the name and/or description.

  3. Click OK(ALT+O).

• Order set name or description

  1. Click to select an option to search for folders by name (ALT+N), by description (ALT+D), or both (ALT+A).

  2. Type the name and/or description.

  3. Click OK(ALT+O).

• Physician instructions on the definition tab

  1. Type some part of the text of the instructions to search for.

  2. Click OK(ALT+O).

• Instructions field in medication, chemo medication, or IV fluid order

  1. Type some part of the text of the instructions to search for.

  2. Click OK(ALT+O).

• General care other orders

  1. Type some part of the text of the instructions to search for.

  2. Click OK(ALT+O).

Searches for regimens and protocols ordered weekly (adult) or by week (pediatric) do not require additional criteria

1. Review all of the parameters for the search.

2. Click OK (ALT+O) to add the search to the queue for processing. Click Cancel (ALT+C) if the parameters are not correct, then repeat the process to set up the search.

3. Click OK (ALT+O) to acknowledge the message that the search will run at 7 p.m.
