Order General Care—Precautions

• If you haven't already:

1. Select the patient.

2. Click Write (ALT+W).

3. Click General Care (ALT+G).

4. Click Precautions (ALT+P).

• Complete the order:

1. Click a checkbox to select one or more Precaution options. If Other, type a description in the field provided.

• For inpatients requiring suicide precautions who are not staying on Blake 11, order from the MGH Suicide Protocol Orders template Psychiatry folder in Sets/Templates. See Ordering from templates.

• For Blake 11 patients, suicide precaution supervision is an order in the privileges form. See Ordering supervision on Blake 11.

2. Type instructions as needed.

3. Select a Start Time (Now or Other ).

4. Click OK (ALT+O).

• Write additional orders as needed, then sign the session.
