Order Privileges—Vitals

• If you haven't already:

1. Select the patient.

2. Click Write (ALT+W).

3. Click VS/Monitoring/Restraints/Code Status (ALT+V).

4. Click Privileges (ALT+P).

• Complete the form

5. Click to select an interval for Checks, then type any additional information in the text field beneath.

6. Click to select appropriate Supervision (Suicide Precautions, Sharps, or None).

The suicide precautions  supervision order here is not adequate for patients who are not staying on Blake 11. For these patients, order from the MGH Suicide Protocol Orders template Psychiatry folder in Sets/Templates. See Ordering from templates.

7. Click to select Privileges (1:1, Unit Restricted, Off Unit with Staff, or Off Unit Unescorted).

Only 1:1 privileges are available in the main Emergency Department.

8. Type an explanation for your choices in the Reason for current levels text field.

9. Click OK (ALT+O).

• Write additional orders as needed, then sign the session.
