Select a Patient

Unit Census Monitor (UCM patient list)—Inpatient, ambulatory, and ED observation patients; main ED patients if EDIS to POE not functioning:

• Click the name on the Unit Census Monitor (UCM).

• To reselect a patient quickly, click the drop-down arrow 6 to the right of the current patient name in the CAS, then click the patient you want to select.

• Fetal/Maternal Medicine Units Only: Click the Associated Units option and select from the drop-down list to switch the UCM list to the maternity or nursery census for the unit. Click the Current Unit option to switch back.

• ED Main Treatment Areas Only: Click the Associated Units option and select from the drop-down list to switch the UCM list another treatment area. Click the Current Unit option to switch back.

Clinical Application Suite (CAS)—Inpatient, ambulatory, and ED observation patients; main ED patients if EDIS to POE not available:

• Look Up By Medical Record Number

• Look Up By Name

• Select the Last Patient You Looked Up

• Select the Last Patient List You Looked Up

• Look Up On A List

Treatment Area Board in the main ED (EDIS)—Main ED patients, EDIS to POE:

• Click the POE button for the patient.

• Click to select a function from the POE menu. The CAS opens with the patient selected to the function chosen. (The UCM and CAS patient lookup are not available. Exit to the treatment area board to select another patient).
