January 15, 2013—Required Authorization For Defined High Dose Pediatric Chemotherapy

Some orders for pediatric chemotherapy with high dosing are now defined to require an additional signature before the orders can be activated.

Key features:

• Attending ordering of pediatric chemo defined as high dose requires Authorization for all cycles

• NP and PA ordering of pediatric chemo defined as high dose requires Authorization and Approval for the first cycle

• NP and  PA ordering of pediatric chemo defined as high dose requires Approval for all subsequent cycles
