Working With Patient Letters

1.   If you haven't already, select My Patient List from the Desktop menu. The My Patient List module defaults to display all lists saved to My List. To display your practice’s lists, click the Practice List tab on the left side of the screen.

2.   Click the name of a list to select it.

3.   Do any of the following:

• Create Letters

  a.   Select the desired patient or patients by clicking the check box next to each name. Or, to create a letter for all patients on the list, click the uppermost check box.

  b.   Select a note template from the Add Letter Using Template drop-down list. The Add Note screen displays and includes the list of patient(s) for whom the letter is being created on the left.

  c.   Type text for your note. To apply special formatting (such as bold or italic text) or to check spelling, click the appropriate formatting button.

  d.   Click Ok (ALT+O) or Ok-Final, as appropriate.

  e.   The date of the note displays as a link in the Letter Created column of the My Patient List screen. Click the link to edit a Preliminary status note or view a Final status note.

  f.    If you want to save and sign for your work now, click Sign (F10). The LMR indicates the changes that will be saved. Type your key and click Sign.

• View Letters

  If a letter has been created for a patient and signed for, the date of the letter is displayed as a hyperlink in the Letter Created column. Click the link to display the letter. Click Cancel to return to the previous screen.

• Print Letters

  Note: Only notes that have been signed for can be printed.

  • Click the check box to the left of each patient's name for whom you wish to print a letter. Or, to print a letter for all patients on the list, click the uppermost check box.

  • Click the Print Letters () icon. Click Print.
