1. If you haven't already, go to the Clinical Messages (or Mail Center) module. The Active queue of either your Clinical Messages or Patient Requests displays. Depending on whether you want to work with a draft Clinical Message or a draft message related to a Patient Request, you may need to click the appropriate tab.
2. Click Draft. The LMR displays a list of messages that you have saved as a draft.
3. Click the subject associated with the message to display it.
4. Edit the message as necessary by doing any of the following:
If you selected a patient as a recipient, you can update the From field.
To specify a message subject, select one from the Subject drop-down list, or type into the field.
If applicable, use the Pt. Data tab to add data.
Note: If sending a message to a GE Chartlinx user, you can also click the Add Pt. Data button.
Type the text of your message.
To apply special formatting (such as bold or italic text) or check spelling, click the appropriate button.
5. If desired, save the message as a note or To Do item. Or click the option to select a read receipt or mark the message as high priority.
6. Click Send or Save as Draft.
7. To return to the list of active messages, click Active at the top of the screen.
