Rx Renewal Queue Overview

The Rx Renewal Queue function allows renewals to be handled as tasks when requests come in from phone calls, messages, and patient portals. Although the workflow varies by practice, the process typically includes:

An icon  in the upper right of the Webshell notification area lets you know the number of incomplete Rx renewal tasks assigned to you.

When you access the Rx Renewal Queue, the list displays your assigned tasks. It includes the date of request, patient’s name, priority, description of the request, medications being requested, and status. Symbols next to the medication name include additional task details.

The default sort order for tasks is reverse chronological. You can sort the data in the columns by clicking the column headings. Exceptions are the Priority column and the Medications column.
