Maintaining a Patient's Pharmacy Information

To display a list of pharmacies entered for the currently selected patient, click the View link in the Pharmacy section of the medication banner on the main Medications screen (or go to the Pharmacies section on the Summary2 screen).

Note: For patients with mail order benefits, the preferred mail order pharmacy is automatically set for the patient, if available.

• To change the patient's default pharmacy

  Click the option button associated with the pharmacy name. The LMR uses the default pharmacy when electronically sending prescriptions. However, you can override the default pharmacy before sending.

• To add a pharmacy

  1.   Click Add New (from the Medications module) or New Pharmacy (from the Summary 2 module).

  2.   Determine whether you want to look up information by name, name and city, city, phone number, fax number, zip code, or mail order. (Or click the Favorites button to select from your list of pharmacy favorites. See Working with Pharmacy Favorites for more information.)

  3.   Type information according to the lookup method selected and click Search (or press ENTER). Or for mail order pharmacies, just click Search.

  4.   Click the pharmacy name. (To add as the default pharmacy, click the associated check box before clicking the pharmacy name.)

  Note: If the pharmacy you want is not found, click Add New to display fields for adding a pharmacy not in the database. (The LMR displays the "Add New" option only after you have completed a pharmacy search.) Type information and click Ok (ALT+O) to update information. Be sure to click Feedback to send a message to the LMR support team to notify them of any missing pharmacy. Manually entered pharmacies are ineligible for ePrescribing, and are sent via fax only.

• To print pharmacy details

  Go to the Summary2 screen. Click the check box to the left of the pharmacy name and click Print.

• To delete a pharmacy

  Go to the Summary2 screen (or click the appropriate Retail/Mail option and the View link in the Pharmacy section of the medication banner on the main Medications screen). Click the check box to the left of the pharmacy name and click Delete. The LMR displays a verification message. Click OK.
