The Custom List option from the Custom menu allows you to create and maintain personal distribution lists. Using these lists can help you save time when sending clinical messages or other LMR e-mail to a group of people.
You can build these lists using the names of other members of your practice, LMR users from other practices, or even non-LMR users (by specifying e-mail addresses). However, custom lists that contain even a single non-LMR user (that is, an e-mail address) can only be used for sending out LMR e-mail. These lists cannot be used with clinical messages.
Note: The Type column of the Custom Lists module indicates whether a list can be used for both clinical messages and LMR e-mail or for only LMR e-mail.
Your personal custom distribution lists display initially. However, a series of filter buttons at the top of the screen can help you locate and view lists created by others. See Using Custom Filters for details. Custom distribution lists created by others can be used as a basis for creating new custom lists.
The Module Preferences button is different than the other filter buttons. It allows you to maintain the lists that are available to you at the Send To field while preparing a clinical message or at the List field when preparing to send a note via e-mail.
