Maintaining the Target Header List

The Module Preferences button allows you to limit the headers available to you when printing notes from the Notes, Document Management, and Results Manager modules.

If you do not use it to specify at least one header, the target list includes all available headers. This includes all headers you've saved to your personal list, all headers saved by you and your colleagues as "practice" headers, as well as all system-supplied (general) headers.

Use the following options to simplify and organize your list of custom headers:

• To remove one or more headers from the list

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Headers module and click Module Preferences. The LMR displays the current list of all available headers. (You may need to click Load My and Practice.)

  2.   Click the check box to the left of the header name and Remove. The LMR displays a verification message.

  Note: Removing a header only hides it from being displayed in the target list; it does not delete it. Also, only the author, supervisor, or practice manager can remove headers saved as Practice General or system-supplied headers.

• To add individual headers to this list

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Headers module.

  2.   If necessary, use the filter buttons to find the header you want to add. The default filter button, My, includes all headers you've saved to your personal list. For details on other options, click here.

  3.   Click the Module check box and the Move to Module button.

• To reorder headers in this list

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Headers module and click Module Preferences. The LMR displays the current list of all available headers. (You may need to click Load My and Practice.)

  2.   Click the line for a header to select it. (When doing so, be sure not to click the header name; doing so displays the header in edit mode.)

  3.   Then, click a navigation button to either move the header up or down in the list ( or ), or to make it the first or last one listed ( or ).

• To restore your target list at any time to include all available headers

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Headers module and click Module Preferences. The LMR displays the current list of all available headers. (You may need to click Load My and Practice.)

  2.   If any headers are displayed, they must first be deleted. Do so by clicking the Remove check box to select all headers and clicking the Remove button.

  3.   Then, click Load My and Practice.

• To specify your print default header

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Headers module and click Module Preferences. The LMR displays the current list of all available headers. (You may need to click Load My and Practice.)

  2.   Click the option button (not the check box) directly to the left of the header name you want to use as the default header.

  If a practice default header is set for your practice, setting a print default header will result in a note with two headers. To avoid printing problems, preview your note before printing.

  Note: See Restoring the System Default Header, if you have previously set a print default header and wish to restore the system default header.

Note: Your changes are effective immediately. You do not need to click Sign or type your key.
