This option allows you to quickly record multiple family history items for multiple family members on a single screen. It is ideal for recording historical information for new patients.
1. If you haven't already, go to the Fam/Soc History module. The LMR displays the default Family History grid as well as any previously recorded family history items for the patient. For details, click here.
2. Click Quick
Entry. The LMR redisplays the grid with the indicators 
, 
, and 
added
for each family member and family history problem.
3. To record positive, negative, or unknown
family history, click the corresponding indicator. Note that when
you select an indicator, it displays as color-coded (
, 
,
and 
).
Note: The Family History Problem column of the grid includes indicators to allow you to record the associated problem as positive, negative, or unknown for all family members with a single click.
4. To indicate that the patient is either adopted or a twin, click the associated check box. The LMR displays a verification message. Click OK. Doing so adds an entry to the patient's problem list for either "Adopted" or "Identical Twin."
5. Click OK (ALT+O).
6. If you want to save your work now, click Sign (F10). The LMR indicates changes that will be saved. Type your key and click Sign.
7. Depending on your set up, you may be prompted to select a cosigner or sign for a provider. See Selecting a Cosigner and Signing and Saving for a Provider.
