Issue Programmer Key

• The Issue Programmer Key function makes the changes necessary to the selected account in order for that user to be considered a programmer within Mass General Brigham. Among the changes are the following:

• Write access to the SD SFA
• Read access to the SDBIN SFA
• G access to the PRO system
• G access to the Personnel Authorization System
• Issue a new Key

• This function is restricted to authorized users; it is not available to users who are not programmers. An audit record is kept.
• The key is not the same as the password.
• Users can look up their own keys: see Finding My Key.  

• To issue a Programmer key for a user account:

1. Select the account.
2. Click the Key menu.
3. Click the Issue Programmer Key option.
4. If the account has an active key, when prompted, click OK to confirm that you want to change the key.

5. When prompted, authenticate your authorization by typing your User Name and Password, and then clicking the OK button.
6. The new key for the selected account is generated automatically. If needed, while the display is available (it closes automatically after two minutes), make a note of it.

• The key expiration date is 180 days from the date it is issued.
• The user can look up their new key in their profile: see Finding My Key.
• Authorized PAS users can look up an account key; see Displaying the key for an account.
