When a regimen or protocol is changed or amended, there may be patients who are still undergoing treatment following the original course. It is up to the provider to decide whether to maintain the original course or transfer to the new version. Once a new version is activated, however, new patients can't be put on the old version.
The Chemotherapy Builder is defined to accommodate and distinguish all of the versions of a regimen or protocol that may exist. The Chemo Archive stores all of the regimens and protocols that are no longer active—that is, those a provider can't put new patients on. Each folder in the archive is stamped with the date and time that it was taken out of use, so that different versions can be distinguished from each other.
