Writing and editing chemotherapy orders is restricted to authorized providers. See Overview of Writing Chemo Orders.
Restrictions apply to changes for chemotherapy medication orders. See Restrictions—Editing Chemotherapy Medication Orders
If you haven't already:
Access the order session one of the following ways:
If the orders are due (Order Status = Pre-Admit or NICO), click Activate (ALT+C). If prompted, select Pre-Admit or NICO Session, then click OK (ALT+O).
If the Order Status does not include Pre-Admit or NICO, click Chemo Options (ALT+M), then click Edit/View Inactive (ALT+V).
To access the LMR Oncology Infusion Flowsheet , click Infusion Flowsheet (ALT+F).
From the Pre-Admit/NICO Order Session list:
Click to select the session to edit.
Click Edit (ALT+E).
Access an order to edit:
For orders other than chemotherapy agents, click to select the order, then click Edit (ALT+E) to access the form.
For chemotherapy medications, click Chemo (ALT+H), then click to select the order.
The options for the selected chemotherapy order can be changed in the form displayed beneath the chemo orders list.
To edit a selected order:
Depending on the type of order, only certain fields can be changed after an order has been signed.
For chemo meds with defined dose modifications, clicking either the Standard Dose or Total Dose field opens the Dose Modifications list. See Changing the Dose of a Chemo Medication.
For AUC dosed chemo meds, clicking either the Standard Dose or Total Dose field opens the AUC Dosing form. See Changing the parameters for AUC Dosing.
For chemo meds, to change the administration days, click the Schedule tab, then click Sched days/doses. See Changing Scheduled Days.
For chemo meds, to prevent recalculation of weight-based dosing upon activation, click the Do Not Recalculate tab, then type your reason.
For chemo meds, to request desensitization orders, click the Desensitize tab. Click the Desensitize checkbox. Click the checkbox to affirm that you have discussed the case for desensitization with an allergist. See Overview of Desensitization Rules.
Click to select from drop-down lists .
Type over, delete, or add to text entries.
Click to select different options . These are mutually exclusive; selecting one in a group automatically deselects the others.
Click to check or uncheck items .
For checkbox or drop-down list selections with additional information, click the button to the right to display the entry form.
For certain orders, click the labeled button—clinical history, reasons, or restrictions, for example—to open the form for editing. Complete the edits, then click OK (ALT+O) to continue.
Click OK (ALT+O).
Click Close (ALT+C) to display the list of orders for this session.
For chemo medication changes, click Yes (ALT+Y) or No (ALT+N) when prompted to indicate whether the change should be continued for the remainder of the current cycle (sessions for future weeks, to be activated separately from the one you are currently editing).
Write additional orders as needed, then sign the session.
Click Close (ALT+C) to close the Pre-Admit/NICO Sessions list.
If you accessed the session from Chemo Options, click Back to UCM (ALT+B).
