Order Vital Signs/I and O/Weights—Vitals

• If you haven't already:

1. Select the patient.

2. Click Write (ALT+W).

3. Click VS/Monitoring/Restraints/Code Status (ALT+V).

4. Click Vital Signs/I and O/Weights (ALT+V).

• Complete the form

5. Click a checkbox (or press ALT + the corresponding letter) to select one or more monitoring options.

6. Select a frequency for each option chosen. If Other, type a frequency in the field provided.

7. For vital signs (VS), if needed, click an option in the drop-down list to indicate what route to use in taking the temperature.

8. Select a Time (Now or Other ).

9. Click OK (ALT+O).

• Write additional orders as needed, then sign the session.
