Order General Care—Wound Care

• If you haven't already:

1. Select the patient.

2. Click Write (ALT+W).

3. Click General Care (ALT+G).

4. Click Wound Care (ALT+W).

• Complete the order:

1. Type the location of the wound to be treated in the Site field.

2. Select a frequency. If Other, type a description and click OK (ALT+O).

3. Click a checkbox to select one or more treatments for the condition. If Other, type the treatment in the field provided.

4. For VAC (Vacuum-Assisted Closure) dressings:

• Click VAC Guidelines for information on this dressing. Click Print for a paper copy. Click Close to return to the Wound Care form.

• Edit the default suction pressure and type as needed. Type over the displayed pressure, or click the up/down arrow to the right to raise or lower the number. Click the Intermittent option to change the type from Continuous.

5. Type instructions.

6. Select a Start Time (Now or Other ).

7. Click OK (ALT+O).

• Depending on the order, you may be prompted to include other orders. See Overview of Consequent Orders.

• Write additional orders as needed, then sign the session.
