Read and respond to messages

  • If you haven't already:
  1. Click Referrals Received on the main menu.
  1. Click the patient name to select a case.
  • If you've moved off of the Referral Management view, click manage.

Reading messages

By default, the Received referral icon Communications section displays the most recent message from the referral sender. The item includes the name of the person who wrote it and a time stamp. 

  • To display all entries, click drop arrow on the right of the section heading.
  • Received referral icon Communications includes the thread of messages, most recent first, sent on the right and receivedon the left. The number to the right of the section heading # indicates how many unread messages from the sender there are. 
  • To receive email and/or text notifications when a message arrives, see Setting up notifications.
  • To mark a communication from the referral sender as read:
  1. Click the section heading drop arrow to display the Received referral icon Communications thread.
  2. Click message unread to the right of the message time stamp to mark the message as Message read read.
  3. Click OK to close the confirmation message.

Responding to a message

  1. Click Confirmed icon or the section heading drop arrow on the right of the heading for the type of note you want.
  • For Confirmed icon, the New Message popup displays.
  • For the section heading drop arrow, the message thread displays. The new message options are at the bottom, scroll down if needed.
  1. Type the note.
  2. To flag the message as requiring immediate action, click Priority switch off to turn the Priority switch on: Priority switch on.

  3. Click send.
