Sending a referral to admissions

  • If you haven't already:
  1. Click Referrals Received on the main menu.
  1. Click the patient name to select a case.
  • If you've moved off of the Referral Management view, click manage.

Sending a referral to admissions

  • Sending a referral to admissions is available only to  Mass General Brigham sites
  • For OUT cases, referrals that are missing required information on the Case Details will not cross the interface. If you send to admissions, the record will sit in a queue, but not go across until the required information is entered. See Completing OUT Case Details.
  • Click send to admissions.
  • The button is not active if the referral was already sent - the date and time the referral actually went into DHeCare (Epic Hyperspace) is noted to its right.
  • The button is not active if a resumption of care (ROC) or revisit date is entered on the  pre-admission analysis (PAA) form.
  • The PROGRESS column on the Referrals Received list is updated: REG = send to admissions initiated (this takes a few minutes after you click the button).
