Find a referral from notification information

  • The Referrals Received view lists patients who have a referral sent to the service provider(s) you're authorized to see in 4Next.
  • To receive email and/or text notifications when a referral arrives, or is confirmed, retracted, or finalized by the sender, see  Setting up notifications. Each individual site has its own notification settings.

Finding a referral from notification information

  1. Notifications include the initials for the patient’s first and last name, and their date of birth, like this: **A, H** 5/4/1986
To find the related referral, type the initials with a comma and a space between.
  2. Press ENTER. Any patients matching the criteria you entered are displayed in the list.
Compare the DOB as an additional identifier.

Viewing details of a referral (quick view)

To display details on a patient and their referral, click the row (but not the name) for the case. Quick details include the patient's name, gender, date of birth and age, insurance(s), and the referring site and the receiving site. City, State includes the primary address (city, state, and zip code) from the patient record. For HHA referrals, the home care location is also displayed when the service address is included in the pre-admission analysis (PAA) form.
