The TNM Staging Flowsheet provides a standard location for a patient's TNM staging to be recorded in the LMR.
TNM staging is a classification scheme developed by the American Joint Commission on Cancer (AJCC). According to this scheme, the stage of a cancer is determined based on size of the primary cancer's tumor (T), assessment of involvement of the lymph node (N), and whether distant metastasis has occurred.
This flowsheet allows all associated TNM staging data to be recorded in a single location, available to all clinicians. A single flowsheet exists for each patient, regardless of the number of tumor types and diagnoses over a multiyear period. A new column is added to the flowsheet grid for each new entry.
The TNM Staging Flowsheet automatically calculates the stage of a patient's cancer based on AJCC guidelines. However, you can specify an alternative stage (with comments), if appropriate.
