Selecting Cosignees

The Configure Cosignee Authorization link from the Custom Cosign module allows you designate users as "cosignees." These users require a cosigner to approve or acknowledge their updates. This link is disabled until your practice selects modules to participate in cosign functionality.

You can select cosignees by role or individual. Only roles that have users associated with them are listed (that is, if the practice does not have administrators, that role is not listed). For each role or individual, you can also select whether updates require approval or acknowledgement by a cosigner for specific modules.

For the Medications module, you can also select whether all updates require the approval or acknowledgement or whether different types of updates (new, edit, renew, reconcile, or discontinue) are treated differently.

1.   If you haven't already, go to the Cosign module and click Configure Cosignee Configuration.

2.   For each role, click the check box to indicate whether each module requires either approval or acknowledgement. If any individual users within a role should be treated differently (for approval or acknowledgement), click the to display all users within a role. Then, click the Approval or Acknowledgement check box, as applicable, for each module.

3.   For the Medications module, if different types of updates should be treated differently (for approval or authorization), click the to expand the Medications column to include subentries for new, edit, renew, reconcile, or discontinue. Then, select Approval or Acknowledgement.

4.   Click Save (ALT+S).

Note: Clicking the to the right of any user's name removes that user from the associated role.
