Patient Gateway Considerations

Note: The Patient Gateway application allows patients to directly contact the staff of their primary care provider for routine tasks, such as requesting medication refills and referrals. It is currently being used at selected Partners practices.

The Results Manager identifies patients with Patient Gateway accounts with the indicator  in the PG column of your queue. By moving your cursor over this indicator, the application displays either the patient's last login or indicates if the patient has never used his or her account.

Patients with Patient Gateway accounts have immediate access to any Result Manager letters that you create. The application releases these letters when you click either Save as Final or Save as Final & Print (and sign) upon completing a letter.

Icons in the Patient Letter column further indicate whether the associated letter has been viewed by the patient:

- Indicates patient has not yet viewed the letter

- Indicates that the patient has viewed the letter. Move your mouse pointer over the icon to display the date viewed.
