OB Record Overview

The OB Record provides clinicians with a means for documenting and viewing comprehensive clinical data on obstetric patients within the LMR. The OB Record uses current LMR functionality such as medications and allergies combined with OB specific data collection screens and decision support.

A stork icon () is displayed at the top of the LMR to the right of the patient name if the selected patient is pregnant and has an open OB record. Clicking the icon displays the patient's estimated delivery date, current gestational age, gravida, and parity. Double-clicking the icon brings you to the OB Record.

The OB Record is composed of two screens: the OB Summary and the Open Pregnancy Summary. If a patient has an open pregnancy in the OB Record, the Open Pregnancy Summary screen displays by default upon navigating to the OB Record (either from the LMR menu or by double-clicking the stork icon). If a patient does not have an open pregnancy, the OB Summary screen displays and lists past pregnancy information, if applicable.

Data from the OB Record can be compiled into reports. For more information, see Working with OB Reports.
