Maintaining the Target Template List

The Module Preferences module allows you to limit the templates that are available to you when creating notes from the Notes module, letters from the Results Manager module, or sections from the Family/Social History module.

If you do not use it to specify at least one template, the target list includes all available templates. This includes all templates you've saved to your personal list, all templates saved by you and your colleagues as "practice" templates, as well as all system-supplied (general) templates.

Use the following options to simplify and organize your template list:

• To remove one or more templates from the list

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Templates module and click Module Preferences.

  2.   Click the check box to the left of the custom template and Remove. The LMR displays a verification message.

  Note: Removing a custom template only hides it from being displayed in the target list; it does not delete it. Also, only the author, supervisor, or practice manager can remove custom templates saved as Practice General.

• To add individual templates to this list

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Templates module.

  2.   If necessary, use the filter buttons to find the custom template you want to add.  The default filter button, My, includes all templates you've saved to your personal list. For details on other options, click here.

  3.   Click the Module check box and use the Move to Module... field to select where you want this custom template to be available.

• To reorder templates in this list

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Templates module and click Module Preferences.

  2.   Click the line for a custom template to select it. (When doing so, be sure not to click the custom template name; doing so displays the custom template in edit mode.)

  3.   Click a navigation button to either move the custom template up or down in the list ( or ), or to make it the first or last one listed ( or ).

• To restore your target list at any time to include all available templates

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Templates module and click Module Preferences.

  2.   If any custom templates are displayed, they must first be deleted. Do so by clicking the Remove check box to select all templates and clicking the Remove button.

  3.   Then, click Load My and Practice.

• To set a default template

  1.   If you haven't already, go to the Custom Templates module and click Module Preferences.

  2.   Click to select the Default button for the desired template.

Note: Your changes are effective immediately. You do not need to click Sign or type your key.
