This module allows you to provide patient educational material from the Health Dialog, Inc., to all LMR patients. Material, including a video and booklet, can be sent via the mail or web (for patients with active Patient Gateway accounts). When sent via the mail, material is sent as a DVD and paper booklet. When sent via the web, material is sent as a direct link.
1. If you haven’t already, select the patient and go to the Patient Decision Aids module. A list of educational material topics displays, organized by category.
2. Find the topic you wish to send to the patient and click the Order this item option. You can select only one topic at a time.
3. The LMR prompts you to select the format for sending this information to the patient: either Web (via Patient Gateway) or DVD/Booklet. Note that the Web option is not available to patients who do not have active accounts in Patient Gateway.
4. Click OK (ALT+O).
5. The LMR displays a new page, including a summary of the topic selected. Click the print option to generate a paper copy and give this page to the patient. Click the close button in the upper right corner.
6. Repeat to send additional topics, as desired.
Notes:
The
LMR includes a 
to indicate that this
educational material has been given the patient. A Patient Education
note is also added to the LMR for the patient.
Material sent via the mail is sent to the patient’s address on file.
Material sent via the web is immediately available to patients via their Patient Gateway accounts.
