Including the Supervising MD on Prescriptions

Authorized users can elect to include the name of the supervising MD at the bottom of every prescription generated by a specified user. Depending on how you set this up, the prescription can include a specific supervising MD for the user, or include a supervising MD that is based on the user's current location when generating the prescription. (That is, you can set up a different supervising MD for each location for that user.)

Do so as follows:

1.  Click Tools from the Admin menu. Then, click NP Utility from the QA tool menu.

2.  Type the user's name into the associated field at the top of the screen, and click Search.

3.  Find the user's name from the Select from List section. Click the name and the Add NP arrow.

4.  Do one of the following:

• To add set a supervising MD to be printed on all prescriptions generated by this user, regardless of the user's location, click here.

  a.   Type the supervising provider's name in the Enter User's Name field at the top of the screen, and click Search.

  b.   Find the provider's name from the Select from List section. Click the name and the Add MD arrow.

  c.    Click Ok (ALT+O).

• To set a supervising MD to be printed on prescriptions generated by this user from a specific location, click here.

  a.    Select the Institution, Clinic, and Subset.

  b.    Find the provider's name from the Provider section. Click the name and the Add MD arrow.

  c.   Repeat steps a and b for each Institution, Clinic, and Subset authorized for this user. If any location is not defined for the user, no supervising MD prints on prescriptions generated by that user from that location.

  d.    Click Ok (ALT+O).
