Note: If you want a color copy of the Asthma Action Plan, you must complete these steps from a workstation associated with a color printer.
1. Access the Asthma Action Plan module.
2. Update the Date and Provider, as applicable.
Note: You can also copy forward the most recent Asthma Action Plan by clicking Copy Previous AAP. This only applies to plans created after 5/18/2012.
3. Click check boxes to identify one or more asthma triggers for this patient.
4. Click to base the Asthma Action Plan on one of the following:
5. Review the medications for each of the asthma severity zones for this patient (green, yellow, and red). Update zones, as required.
6. For patients less than 20 years old, if you want to also include a Student Medication Administration Authorization form with the printout, click the appropriate option.
7. To include an additional copy in Spanish when generating the plan, click the Spanish check box at the Additional language field. (Translation displays next to English text after selecting the check box.) This can be useful if a Spanish version is needed for the parent or guardian and an English version needed for the school.
8. Click Generate Report, and Print & Save as Note or Save as Note.
9. If you want to save your work now, click Sign (F10). The LMR indicates the changes that will be saved. Type your key and click Sign.
