Entering Notes Faster

You can save time when creating notes by either copying previously entered notes for a patient or by using note templates.

A template is a note structure, consisting of one or more sections. Templates save time during data entry by focusing on only relevant topics for a selected note type. A template may also contain standard text (especially within the Physical Exam subsections), further saving data entry time.

Templates can be created for or by individual providers (personal templates) or for the entire practice. However, only authorized users can create practice templates.

You can also save time when creating notes by using custom paragraphs and system macros. For details, see using custom paragraphs and adding patient data using system macros.
