An Alert message is displayed if you or any other user subsequently attempts to enter a medication that contains an ingredient specified as an allergen for the patient.
Note: The LMR also displays Alert messages if you attempt to enter an allergy for a medication on the patient's active list of medications. The Alert message displayed allows you to automatically discontinue the associated medication (if appropriate). You are also allowed to override the Alert, provided you specify a reason.
