Clinical Summary Report Overview

The Clinical Summary report allows you to provide a report to the patient of actions that were taken during his or her visit (such as vital signs, prescriptions generated, and immunizations given). You can also choose to include a variety of patient education materials.

Note: If the LMR does not detect that the patient has a visit scheduled for the current day, the LMR displays a list of previous visits the patient has had (if applicable) or a button to create a visit summary (if the LMR cannot detect that the patient has ever had a visit with the practice).

The report also includes a table of contents, followed by complete lists of conditions (problems), procedures, medications, and so on. If desired, you can elect to suppress specific information by clicking the check box to the left of the item to deselect it. Note that certain sections cannot be suppressed and do not have check boxes.

This report is intended to be generated immediately after the patient's visit to facilitate effective patient/provider communication. The report can either be printed and given directly to the patient or sent to the patient through Patient Gateway with or without printing. The report can also be saved as Preliminary allowing others within your practice to contribute to the summary report before providing it to the patient.

You can also see a list of all previously printed or saved reports.

For Patient Gateway users, an online copy of the Clinical Summary is added to the patient's Patient Gateway account when this report is saved in any status other than Preliminary.
