Automatically Reply to Messages While Away

This feature applies only to clinical messages you receive from other LMR users or from authorized GE Centricity users. It has no affect upon mail you receive from Outlook, Patient Gateway, or any other electronic mail system.

1.   If you haven't already, go to the Clinical Messages (or Mail Center) module. Your Active queue is displayed. (If you are authorized to view both Clinical Messages and Patient Requests, the Patient Requests tab displays. Click the Clinical Messages tab.)

2.   Click Out of Office.

3.   Select the dates you will be away. (The message that you will subsequently enter will be sent automatically as a reply to all incoming clinical messages received for each of these days.)

4.   Type your message into the Display Message window.

5.   If desired, you can also choose to forward your new messages to another LMR user. To do so, click the to the right of the field labeled "Forward all messages to." Click to select a name from the drop-down list.

6.   Click Ok (ALT+O). The Out of Office link gets highlighted in green to indicate the feature is on.

7.   To discontinue your automatic reply at any time, click Out of Office, and click I am in the Office. (This button displays only when applicable.)

Note: Practice managers can set Out of Office for users at their practice. Do so by first selecting the a name from the Users drop-down list.
