Assigning Messages (Patient Requests Only)

Assign messages to other members of your practice or to yourself using the following steps. Doing so is especially important when viewing messages addressed to a shared “desk” (such as the Medications Desk) to ensure that others who view this message know that another user has started work on this message.

1.  If you haven’t already, go to the Clinical Messages (or Mail Center) module. The Active queue of your Patient Requests displays.

2.  Find the message you want from the list and click the subject to display it.

3.  Click the drop-down list at the Assign field. A list of names of other users from your practice displays.

4.  Click the name of the person to be assigned to this message.

5.  If desired, you can also update the status of the request to Not Started, In Progress or Completed.

Note: Updates to Assign and Status fields are immediately saved. You do not need to click Save or sign your updates.

6.  Click Cancel to return to your Active queue.
